Do you provide the marriage license?
No.
You, as the couple, will need to obtain your marriage license. This can be obtained at a Notary Public or London Drugs Insurance Counter. The cost is approximately $100.
How long is our marriage license valid for?
In BC, your license is valid for 90 days prior to your wedding.
What do I need to take with me to get a marriage license?
You will each require 2 pieces of ID. Please note at least one item must be photo ID.

- Passport
- Credit Card
Who fills out our marriage license?
We ask that once you obtain your license, you leave the details to us. We’ll gather the necessary information and fill it out for you. It is a legal document, and that’s what we specialize in.
Does This Moment help plan and organize the wedding day?
We’re wedding officiants and our role is to guide you through your ceremony and create a moment that reflects you both. We do not plan, organize or co-ordinate wedding planning; we leave that up to the other experts in our industry. Need recommendations? We’ve met a few along the way and would love to share!
Is a sound system necessary?
That completely depends on your location and number of guests. A small intimate wedding circle on the beach, or in your backyard, may not require it. But a larger venue, and guest list, may mean you’ll want to ensure those who’re joining you for this special moment can hear what you’re sharing to one another.
We’re eloping. Do you provide the witnesses?
Unfortunately, we do not provide witnesses for elopements.
You will require 2 people to stand with you and sign for legal purposes.
We want to get married in a public place. Do we need a permit?
Depending on where you’re looking to tie the knot, a permit may be necessary. You can inquire through your local municipality. They’ll be looking for the size of your group, noise factors, time of day, decor (tent or other items secured into the ground) and several other factors.
